The nuts behind the wheel...
Jason Craig Megan
Started autocrossing in 2002 in a 1997 Honda Prelude in STS. Continued to run the Prelude in STS during the 2003 season and attended nationals for the first time in the car (24th in STX). At the end of the 2003 season I decided that the Prelude just wasn't going to beat the '89 Civic Si, so I hooked up with a local driver to co-drive a Civic for the 2004 season.
Drove and helped build the STS Civic Si all of the 2004 year and trophied in 7th at Nationals in STS, and finisihed 3rd at first ProSolo (Toledo in STS). The year when well, the Civic was definitely more competitive than the Prelude (thanks Colin), however, the car owner sold the car in the off-season. I decided to build my own STS '89 Civic Si.
In 2005, I starting building another '89 Civic Si, got the car to about 75% by the end of the season. Had a decent showing at the Peru Tour, finishing 3rd after leading Saturday. The National Championships were disappointing, mostly due to a bad tire choice, finished 14th.
In 2006, purchase a built STS '89 Civic Si w/ Craig and co-driving the car worked out well. We put together a good car and started to get it sorted out mid-season, the 2006 season ended on a sad note as I was DSQ'd for some issues while leading day 1.
In 2007, Team Undercoat Racing was formed and we purchased yet another '89 Civic Si to replace the DSQ'd chassis of 2006, this car was in stock form, all parts were transfered from the previous years car.

  Some Noteworthy Accomplishments:
  • 2007 STS Solo National Champion
  • 2007 Milwaukee Tour STS Winner
  • 2006 Milwaukee Tour STS Winner
  • 2006 Pro Class Champion (MKE Region)
  • 2004 Solo National, 7th in STS (trophy)
I started to autocross in 2003 (age 29 ouch!) after some arm twisting by a local competitor. After a couple events in an SM2 Miata I was lucky enough to get a season co-drive in a STS prepared Civic and finish ~top 20 PAX for the 2 local clubs, WAI and SCCA–Milwaukee. Even though the car was given most of the credit, the clubs still awarded me ROTY year for both clubs. Special thanks to Colin Fiedler.
In 2004,I decided to get cute and bought a beat up, but lovable, second gen. MR2. I raced this car for most of the season, although I did jump into the STS Civic a couple of times and managed to make top 6 on PAX in the Milwaukee region.
Roy Dietsch and I decided to go the STS2 route in 2005. We built a reasonally well prepared 1993 Miata on a limited budget. Along with ny fiancée Megan Young, we raced the car all season and had some success at nationals. I finished 5th after having serious issues in the rain on day 1.
Purchase a built STS '89 Civic Si w/ Jason in 2006. We put together a good car and started to get it sorted out mid-season, the season ended on a sad note as we were DSQ'd for some issues w/ the car while I was in the trophies.
In 2007, Team Undercoat Racing was formed and we purchased another '89 Civic Si to replace the DSQ'd chassis of 2006, this car was in stock form, all parts were transfered from the previous years car.

  Some Noteworthy Accomplishments:
  • 2007 Solo Nationals, 3rd in STS
  • 2006 Milwaukee Tour 2nd in STS
  • 2005 Solo National, 5th in STS2 (trophy)
  • Best Nationals Finish: 3rd in STS (2007)

She's known to slay the boys of Milwaukee Region, while mocking them with random thoughts on the hood of the STS Civic. Also known to get a little wild at the local Topeka watering hole.

  Some Noteworthy Accomplishments:
  • 2006 STS2L Solo Nationals Winner
  • 2007 Solo National, 3rd in STSL (trophy)
  • 2007 STUL Milwaukee Tour Winner

No Weenies...     (from the SCCA Rulebook)
While the right to protest in proper cases is undoubted, it should be remembered that Solo events are sporting events, to be conducted in a sporting spirit; that all events are organized and managed by amateurs who cheerfully give their time and do their best, that the competitor may expect some imperfections of the organizers and of his fellow competitors; and that, to a reasonable extent, these things are part of the chances he takes in entering the competition.
